Privacy & community guidelines

Strike3 is a place to read and share firsthand experiences with college softball programs. Reviews are published immediately and are not verified as coming from players.

What anonymous means here

Visitors do not see a reviewer's name, email address, or account ID. A reviewer can choose whether to show their current or former player status. The account behind each review is visible to the site operator for account management and moderation.

We cannot guarantee that others will not identify you. A small roster, a specific event, timing, writing style, or details about teammates or coaches may reveal who wrote a review. Public reviews can also be copied or saved by others. Review dates appear as month and year; review records do not store IP addresses. The site uses separate short-lived, hashed connection information for abuse limits, and hosting logs may also exist.

Writing a review

  • Review only a program where you are or were a player. Describe your own experience honestly; player status is self-reported, not verified by Strike3.
  • Give useful context for ratings while avoiding names, contact details, private health information, and details that could identify you or another person.
  • Do not post harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, spam, impersonation, or invented experiences.
  • Thoughtful criticism and low ratings are welcome. Disagreement alone is not grounds for removal.

A signed-in reviewer can edit or find and delete their own review from its program page. A hidden review remains available to its author for management but is not public or included in averages.

Reporting a review

Use Report review beneath a published review for exposed personal information, harassment, spam, or a suspected invented review. Choose Other for another specific concern. Give only the details needed to explain it; do not include identifying or contact information. No account is required to report.

Reports and explanations are private to the operator. A report does not automatically hide a review. The operator assesses it and may leave the review visible or hide it; a hidden review may later be restored. A report is a concern to review, not proof that its claim is correct.

Deleting your account and data

To delete one review, sign in, open its program page, choose Manage your review, then Delete my review. Its text and ratings are removed from the live database and public averages. Existing reports and moderation records about an individually deleted review remain private. They do not store a separate review snapshot, though someone may have quoted text in a report explanation.

To delete your account, sign in and use Delete account. Confirm with your password. This immediately removes your account, all your reviews, and their associated reports and moderation records from the live database, and signs you out. This action cannot be undone.

Copies already held in backups may remain until those backups expire; a fixed backup deletion period has not yet been established. We cannot remove copies of public reviews saved by other people. Reports submitted without an account are not linked to a reporter account, so account deletion cannot identify and remove them.
