Hit-A-Thon will be held this year on March 16, 2008. Hit-A-Thon is a Foster City Little League tradition dating back many years. It is the only fund raiser sponsored by the League. The Hit-A-Thon pledge drive gives relatives and friends the opportunity to help promote the Little League program in Foster City. Players ask their relatives and friends to make a pledge for them. Pledges are either "per foot" that the ball is hit, or a fixed amount.

The Hit-A-Thon event is a combination of Picture Day, the Actual Hit-A-Thon and a BBQ picnic in Sea Cloud Park. Team and individual pictures are taken first by professional photographers. After pictures, teams go to hitting lanes, where every child hits several soft-core balls from a Tee. The coaches write the longest distance batted on the player's Hit-A-Thon pledge card. This distance is used to calculate distance pledges when the Hit-A-Thon pledge collection letters are sent out. After hitting, the players, parents and friends enjoy a BBQ (no charge) for a good time.

Please be at Sea Cloud Park at least 15 to 30 minutes early to sign in, and bring your completed Hit-A-Thon pledge cards with you. Remember to have each sponsor's section completely filled out (printed) including names, addresses, states and zip codes.
